About the School

Whitchurch First School is a popular, successful first school situated in Stanmore. The school opened in September 1992. Whitchurch First School provides a safe and secure environment for everyone associated with the school, with modern and stimulating facilities. Our Ofsted Inspection in 2007 rated us to be outstanding in all areas. The inspectors said:

'Teaching and learning are outstanding. Dynamic teaching is underpinned by excellent relationships to make lessons enjoyable for pupils and staff alike. They work closely together with a strong sense of collaboration and discovery. Teachers skilfully interweave work in numeracy and literacy with pupils' everyday experiences. The use of a wide range of resources and technology such as interactive whiteboards serves to focus and stimulate pupils' attention. This makes lessons challenging. The quality of teaching in the Foundation Stage creates an excellent start for the pupils' education. The curriculum is expertly planned. It meets children's needs fully using the exciting indoor and outdoor learning environment.'
