Welcome to Whitchurch First School

Welcome to Whitchurch First School - a popular and successful three form entry school situated in Stanmore. On behalf of the whole school community, children, staff, parents and governors, may I welcome you and your family to our school.

We are not complacent about the good reputation of the school but seize every opportunity to improve further. At Whitchurch First School we are conscious of the trust placed in us by parents as their child starts school. We aim to provide a happy, safe and purposeful learning environment where children come first. We are well aware that children do not come to us as blank pieces of paper but in fact have already had their earliest learning experiences with their primary carers, their parents.

We build on the good work of the ‘first educators’ the parents who have already begun to develop the many qualities and skills that make a strong foundation for learning. We will do all that we can to encourage the children to work to the best of their abilities, especially to develop the essential skills that will take them through life and prepare them to be global citizens fit for the 21st century.

Our vision is that by working together in true partnership - children, staff, parents and governors - we will create the optimum opportunities for challenge, excitement, fun, progress and strong educational development for each child. The prospectus is designed as an introduction to our school and serves as a useful point of reference to keep. I would however urge all prospective parents to visit the school as nothing beats this first hand experience. We all look forward to getting to know you and your child should they attend our school.

With very best wishes,

Anne Winstrom
